Maria Kasapoglou

Maria Kasapoglou – Artist (graduate of the School of Fine Arts of the National Technical University of Athens 2007-2017), was born in Athens in 1986.

She studied photography and audiovisual arts at the Athens Technical University, and then entered the School of Fine Arts of the National Technical University of Athens.

There she attended painting classes at the 4th workshop with teachers Mr. Panagiotis Charalambous (Rector of the School of Fine Arts) and Mr. Michael Manousakis. She also has knowledge of Engraving (with teachers Mr. Pirounidis and Ms. Tsalamantas) and Mosaic (with teacher Ms. Angelidou).

In parallel with the School of Fine Arts, she studied privately at the Kapodistrian University in "Psychology of Education" and at the Hellenic Federation of the Deaf in "Greek Sign Language".

She has held 10 personal and participated in group exhibitions in recognized cultural venues from 2011 to the present. Since 2005, she has been supporting art and actively participating in the cultural events of Greece.

In the past, she has voluntarily given painting lessons to primary and secondary school children for 5 consecutive years, supporting the Municipality of Lykovrysa-Pefki culturally and artistically (2005 -2010). She was involved in the Theater (theater dyehouse) as an assistant for the construction of sets and costumes.

She has undertaken the illustration (medical illustration) of Medical Encyclopedias and has collaborated with well-known Doctors in Greece and abroad for the "visual" programming of their personal speeches and of Medical conferences in general (posters - invitations, etc.).

In 2017 she collaborated with Mr. Alexander Kalogeras (Professor in the Department of Music Composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston), on the island of Naxos, for the visual interventions. Her own work (portrait) has been hosted in an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
